Where I fit

Wherever the work is. I'm a generalist, and I mean that literally.

I've worked a lab bench, a shop floor, a brand campaign and a hundred-ticket-a-day queue. None of those were the same job. I was useful at each one within weeks, and that is the actual skill.

Put me on any side of the business, in any function, in any industry. Give me the learning curve and I'll take it. I'd rather start before I feel ready and close the gap fast than wait for a job description that fits me exactly.

How I pick up a new job: shadow for a day, read everything there is, take the queue on day two, and ask the obvious questions in week one so I'm not asking them in month three.

  • Customer success
  • Operations
  • Founder's office
  • Implementation
  • Sales support
  • Anything without an owner
  • The queueTickets, calls, escalations, handoffs. I've run a hundred a day at a 100% audited quality score.
  • The customerFace to face on a shop floor, on the phone in operations, on the receiving end of a sample in a lab.
  • The processWhere the work leaks between teams. I write the note that makes the next person faster.
  • The founder's loose endsVendors, coordination, follow-ups, the thing nobody has picked up yet.
  • The pitch and the stallBest Entrepreneurial Award in my final year at Kristu Jayanti, and six college contests, for pitching ideas and running stalls. Ideas are cheap; I like the part where you have to sell one.
  • The domainHealthtech and life sciences are where my background runs deepest. A bonus, not a requirement.

If that sounds like the person your team is missing, the CV is one page.

Writing

Short pieces on the lab, the queue, and the seat between them.

  1. The person healthtech startups keep failing to hire

Life-sciences startups have scientists, engineers and business generalists. The seat between the product and the lab customer is usually empty.

  2. A hundred tickets a day, and keeping the quality score at 100

The working habits behind a high-volume ticket queue, from someone who has been in one all year.

  3. What 150 samples a day taught me about customer success

Four months in a diagnostics lab, and what the bench teaches about the people on the other end of a report.

  4. The stall and the pitch

Six college contests, one award, two ideas I still think about, and what selling at a stall taught me before any job did.
